Quick start

Get started in 3 steps.

From nothing to a working client in a few minutes. The full install guide is linked below for version-specific details.

1 · Download the mod

Grab the Hero Client JAR for your Minecraft version from the downloads page. It is free, account-free, and ships as a single Fabric mod.

2 · Install Fabric

Install Fabric Loader for your exact Minecraft version, then drop the Hero Client JAR and Fabric API into your mods folder. Java 21 for 1.21.x, Java 25 for 26.x.

3 · Launch and press M

Start Minecraft with the Fabric profile, then press M to open the mod menu. Browse categories, search for features and toggle them on or off.

What you need to run Hero Client.

Hero Client is a Fabric mod — it runs alongside Fabric API on your existing Minecraft installation. The specs below cover the client itself.

  • Any GPU that runs vanilla Minecraft 1.21+
  • 2 GB free RAM allocated to Minecraft

Recommended specs

  • Java 21 or 25 from a trusted distribution (Adoptium, Microsoft Build)
  • 4 GB+ RAM allocated — the performance engine reads more headroom better
  • SSD for faster world loads and screenshot/replay exports
  • Dedicated GPU with current drivers for frametime monitoring accuracy
  • Stable connection for cloud sync and social features
Java version is the #1 install issue. Minecraft 1.21.x will not start on an older JRE, and a newer JDK — 25, for example — fails before the game loads. If Hero Client does not appear at all, check your Java version first.

v2.2.3 beta — the connected build: signs in to Hero Studios, reads your shared plan and reports progress milestones back to your account page. v2.2.2: every keybind off vanilla controls + config version gate. v2.2 (pinned to Minecraft 1.21.11); every keybind moved off vanilla controls (W/R/T/F//), and a config version gate restores feature defaults for players upgrading from builds that saved everything off. v2.2 multi-version builds remain published for 1.21 through 1.21.10 (12 releases total); 26.x builds in progress.
